CYNSAA is one of the largest geographic regions within the ESSAA organization. Located in Central New York, our districts span from Corning Painted Post in Steuben County to Indian River, in the North Country and from Utica in the East to Canandaigua in the West. CNYSAA has 21 member districts: Auburn, Avoca, Bath, Canandaigua, Canisteo-Greenwood, Cato-Meridian, Corning Painted Post, East Syracuse Minoa, Fayetteville-Manlius, Indian River, Jordan ELbridge, Mexico, Moravia, OCM BOCES, Onondaga Central Schools, South Jefferson, Tioga, Utica, Waverly, Weedsport and Whitney Point.

CYNSAA’s legal pillar is attorney Karen Khanzadian, we continue to work to support administrators during their everyday commitment to the kids and staff of the buildings and positions they hold. We are constantly working to better ourselves and support the members throughout the region. Whether it is through a simple phone call or utilizing video conferencing, we are easily and readily available to support our members. Regardless of need or time, the network established throughout the central region of the state has continued to strengthen through the involvement with ESSAA.

To further support our members, ESSAA leadership has focused on developing and evolving our mission focusing on three main pillars. Through legal services, professional development, and advocacy, the structure is there for the dedicated administrators throughout New York State. The evolution of these areas has been a steady process and one that our members are taking advantage of. Through the professional development series, members have been able to engage (virtually) with some of the leading experts in our field.

I encourage any of our members to reach out with any question you have or issues/concerns you would like to share. Through communication and dedication, we will continue to work to support each of you as we work to make sense of what has become our reality in public education. In turn, I will commit to each of you that we will continue our work providing you the best representation, support, and advocacy for our region as you work in our many school districts throughout.

Thank you for all that you do and have done through this time of uncertainty to provide some stabilizing force to our students. I look forward to meeting and seeing each of you very soon.

Thank you,

Lisa O'Neill
