CAS Hires PR Firm PMG
Dear CAS Members:
Welcome back to a new school year! As you all know, 2011-2012 looks to be a challenging year for school districts throughout New York. In response, CAS is taking a proactive role supporting our administrators and supervisors through a public relations initiative to increase awareness on Long Island of the essential role administrators play in making Long Island school districts some of the best in the Country.
To this end, CAS has appointed Progressive Marketing Group, Inc. (PMG) (Melville, LI) to begin this initiative on your behalf. Their responsibility will be to foster support and understanding of the vital positions CAS members play in the school, community and district. Acting as our media liaison, PMG will generate articles, press releases, press interest, publicity opportunities and story leads on your behalf.
However, we cannot accomplish this alone. We need your full and dedicated support in order to make this effort a success. Story leads and ideas should come directly from CAS members to my attention. They can include, but are not limited to topics such as:
Accolades/awards
Educative initiatives
Safety/health initiatives
Mental health initiatives
School pride
PTA/Administrator Cooperatives
Single student/administrator stories
Single teacher/administrator stories
Transportation
Aftercare/Extra help
Successes Stories; i.e. Extracurricular programs, Bully Prevention, etc.
The overriding mission of this public relations and publicity support initiative is to spotlight the many contributions Long Island school administrators and supervisors make to our schools and our communities, including your accomplishments and the value that you personally bring to the student body, families, educators and the school district. The media carry far too many stories that cast educators in a bad light. CAS has brought PMG on to ensure that your efforts and contributions get some “equal time” in the media.
We're looking for new and creative initiatives and results-proven programs successfully implemented by our members. Stories can be as personal as a single-case study, to as vast as a school-to-government initiative. All stories need to focus directly on administrator involvement. Pictures are a plus. We cannot promise the local media will pick up all stories, but we will validate each one and coordinate directly with our P.R. firm.
Please take some time to think about all that you do for your school district. Submit your story concepts and material to my attention at the CAS office. These efforts will help our members individually, our profession as a whole, and your district within your community.
Thanks, and we look forward to hearing from you.
